This blog was born in 2006, when I moved to Shanghai, China, to teach English and abate a “quarter-life crisis” that I was experiencing at the time. What began as a way to keep my friends and family informed of the culinary powerhouse that Shanghai ended up being a way to express myself in writing – something I have always been passionate about doing – and what better topic to write about than food?
When I moved back to Orange County, California, I found myself at a loss for words and the blog went by the wayside. Ultimately, I discovered Yelp, which got me writing reviews and connecting with like-minded people who loved food and enjoyed photographing it, writing about it, and sharing it. I also began to find joy in rediscovering the foods of Orange County and beyond as I now work in the travel industry.
This blog is a way to share my love of food – the community it creates, the joy that it brings, and the creativity that is endless. I hope you read, discover, and find your own way to become an enthusiast of food the way that I have!
