Backyard Barbecue & Brews at Tommy Bahama!

Backyard Barbecue & Brews at Tommy Bahama!

Backyard barbecues are almost synonymous with summertime. You can’t beat having friends gathered around a hot grill waiting for burgers and hot dogs, sipping on cold beers and enjoying the longer days.

So it’s fitting that from now through AugustTommy Bahama Restaurant & Bar has unveiled a seasonal menu with their twist on summer favorites, featuring gourmet burgers, hot dogs made with 100% Kobe beef, finger licking ribs and locally crafted beer. Take a look!

I got the opportunity to check out the menu firsthand at Tommy Bahama Newport Beach during a lunch outing with a guest – and there were some definite winners!

We started our meal with both appetizers, the first: the Spiked Guacamole & Fire Roasted Salsa, served with Chips. Despite their name, neither salsa nor guacamole had a fiery kick to them, but they were fresh and inviting.

We also tried the “Pupu Style” Guava Glazed Baby Back Pork Ribs – and these are a definite winner! I could have had this as my main meal, they were fork tender and delicious! (hey Tommy Bahama, add these to your regular menu!)

Then we dove into our main entrees. My eating companion went with the Philly Cheesesteak Kobe Beef Hotdog – Sliced ribeye, bell peppers, onions, Beech mushrooms, tomato sauce & cheese blend.

She really liked the mix of the sausage’s flavor mixed with the marinara sauce – the hot dog comes with an extra side of marinara but she said that on its own, it doesn’t mesh well with the flavors of the hot dog.

I decided on the Double Stacked Pork Burger, which is served with Island Slaw, Pickle Chips (which I asked for on the side), American cheese, Russian dressing, Garlic Aioli, and a side of fries.

This was such a delicious burger.  I didn’t really miss the beef and I thought all the flavors of the cheese and dressing really worked together!  If you get a chance to order this burger this summer, I highly recommend it.

There are also a lot of summer drinks to be enjoyed from the menu, but we didn’t get a chance to try any of the cocktails or beers on the list.

Don’t delay!  Make sure you visit Tommy Bahama Restaurant & Bar before summer ends this August and get your hand on these summer BBQ staples!

**Disclosure: I was invited as a media guest to enjoy the menu items, however all opinions are my own.
