“Farm Fresh Fun” Coming to 2017 OC Fair!

It’s the official start of summer, which means one of my favorite annual events is just around the corner: The OC Fair!  The fair is slated to kick off on Friday, July 14th and run from Wednesdays-Sundays until August 13, 2017.  That means you have 23 days to stuff yourself silly with all the fair foods you could possibly want!

This year’s theme is “Farm Fresh Fun” and it looks like the line-up is going to be heavily focused on celebrating 127 years of agriculture and the animals and crops that set the OC Fair apart from the rest.

What’s New for 2017

As this is a food blog, I’m most excited to check out the new offerings that the OC Fair vendors will have this year.  It’s been tough to top some highlights from past years, like the Deep Fried Apple Rings, the French Toast bombs from last year – and what about those timeless Tasti Chips that I love so much? Here’s a round-up of new and interesting food items to look forward to at the OC Fair

  1. Master chocolatier Stéphane Tréand will showcase his talents in the OC Promenade and feature a large variety of French pastries at his booth.  As the owner of The Pastry Shool and St. Patisserie Chocolat in Costa Mesa, Tréand’s demonstrations will feature tartlets, chocolate bon bons, truffles, caramels, cookies, and so much more.  The most exciting part of his booth?  He will be featuring two dessert items that will be crowd-pleases: a macaron gelato sandwich and a chocolate orange tarte to represent Orange Coounty and the OC Fair.  I can’t wait to get my hands on both!
